What employers look for
AI governance hiring managers rarely want a list of regulations. They want to see that you can connect a risk to a control, an owner, and a record, then explain the decision in plain language.
A strong piece shows judgement about proportionality: why one use case needs a light review and another needs a fuller one.
Examples that work
Bounded artefacts are more convincing than long documents:
- A use-case triage brief that recommends manual, rules, AI-assisted, or automated work.
- A risk register for one use case with owners, controls, and reassessment triggers.
- A control-to-evidence record showing how a check is proven, not just described.
- An audit evidence pack for a single control, labelled as a simulation.
- A short board or stakeholder summary of a governance decision.
Structure and limits
Open with the decision, then show the risk, the control, the owner, the evidence, and what remains uncertain. Use a fictional or permitted scenario, and do not present learning work as a live organisational audit.
